Let me start by saying that the reason I started this empowerment group is that I want us women to know that our background does not define who we are.

Hi, my name is Eronda, and I was born in Louisville, Mississippi. I have 2 children who are in college. When I was growing up, I did not have the ideal childhood. I was subject to hatred from family members because of who my father is. I endured verbal and physical abuse by my mother. My maternal family said things to me that were hurtful; however, my mother never stood up for me. I was treated like a stranger in my own family. A little backstory about my dad. He denied that I was his child until I was 36 years old. That was literally the first time I heard him call me his baby. I grew up with low self-esteem; I hid from people by standing in the back of the room, never made friends, and this spilled over into my adulthood. I said all that to say this: I had to seek Jesus really hard, and when I found Him, it was easy for me to go on with my life and make something of myself. In 2019, I finished college with 2 degrees, and I started to walk with my head held high, like I was the only person on God's earth.
